What are scalp threads and how does PDO scalp threading work?

Scalp threads are very fine, dissolving threads of PDO (polydioxanone), the same medical material used in many thread lifts. Your doctor numbs the scalp and uses fine needles to lay short threads just under the skin of the thinning areas. The healing response around each thread is designed to boost blood flow and stimulate nearby follicles, and the threads dissolve on their own over about six to eight months.

2. Preparation: the scalp is cleansed and numbed for comfort.
3. Treatment: fine threads are laid under the thinning areas; the visit takes about 90 minutes.
4. One session: usually enough, with a top-up after about a year if needed.
