What is mesotherapy for face and how does it work?
Mesotherapy for face places tiny amounts of a serum in the middle layer of the skin, with very fine injections or a microneedling pen, so it works exactly where your skin needs it. Your doctor chooses the serum for your main concern, often built on hyaluronic acid, vitamins, amino acids or brightening agents: acne-prone skin, acne marks, pigmentation, or a dull, dehydrated look. It improves the skin’s surface, tone and glow, but it can’t fill deep, pitted scars.
Mesotherapy benefits
- Fading marks: red and dark marks after pimples blend in faster.
- A more even tone: brightening serums work on dull patches and pigmentation.
- Deep hydration: hyaluronic acid leaves skin plumper and softer.
- Calmer skin: less oil and redness in acne-prone skin.
- Made for you: the serum is chosen for your skin, not one product for everyone.
- Little downtime: redness settles within a day or two.
Mesotherapy for acne marks
Once pimples settle, they often leave red or dark marks that can take months to fade on their own. Face mesotherapy speeds this up: hyaluronic acid serums calm redness and hydrate, brightening serums work on dark marks, and oily, acne-prone skin gets a serum chosen to calm oil. Inflamed or infected spots are never injected, so active breakouts are settled first with a salicylic acid peel or HydraFacial.
Mesotherapy before and after
Skin looks fresher and more hydrated within days of the first session, and marks fade steadily with each visit. In a split-face trial of 25 people, three hyaluronic acid sessions four weeks apart left clearly less redness after acne on the treated side than on the untreated side. Our patients share their own results in the videos below.

Who shouldn’t have mesotherapy?
It isn’t suitable with active breakouts or an infection in the area, during pregnancy or breastfeeding, if you are allergic to any ingredient, or if you tend to form raised scars. Your doctor checks this at your consultation.
Your mesotherapy, step by step
- Free consultation: your doctor checks your skin and chooses the serum for your concern.
- Preparation: your skin is cleansed, then numbed with cream for comfort.
- Treatment: fine injections or microneedling across the area; about 40 minutes in all, with numbing.
- Course: 2–4 sessions, spaced 2–4 weeks apart.
- Upkeep: daily sunscreen and a gentle routine help stop new marks.
Results and recovery
Expect redness, small bumps and a tingling feeling for 24–48 hours, and sometimes a small bruise, while infection is rare with sterile, single-use products. Your skin looks fresher and more hydrated soon after the first session, marks fade steadily over the course, and the glow lasts longer when you keep breakouts under control and wear sunscreen every day.
Aftercare
- No make-up for 24 hours
- No gym, sauna or steam for 24–48 hours
- Don’t touch, rub or pick the area
- Wear sunscreen every day
