IV Vitamin Drips

IV Vitamin Drips

Running on empty from long workdays, poor sleep or a diet that has gone off track? IV vitamin drips are infusions of vitamins, minerals and fluid given into a vein under a doctor’s care, so your body receives the full dose without relying on your gut. Each one is planned around a health check, not picked from a menu.

Best for low vitamin levels or poor absorption, alongside a healthy diet.

What can a vitamin drip help with?

A low vitamin level on a blood testLevels topped up fast, then kept up with food.
Tiredness linked to a shortfallFeeling more like yourself as levels recover.
Poor absorption after gut surgery or illnessNutrients delivered without relying on the gut.
Feeling run-down after a hectic seasonA doctor-checked top-up and a plan to recover.

How do IV vitamin drips work?

Your doctor builds each drip from a short list of ingredients, usually vitamin C, B vitamins such as B12, and minerals such as magnesium and zinc, mixed into a bag of sterile fluid. Because it runs straight into a vein, almost the whole dose reaches your blood, while tablets depend on how well your gut absorbs them.

The gain is clearest when you are genuinely low in a nutrient or your gut can’t absorb it well. If your levels are already normal, extra vitamins add little, so a drip supports your diet rather than replacing it.

Who shouldn’t have an IV vitamin drip?

A drip isn’t given during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or with kidney disease, kidney stones, a heart condition or high blood pressure. Tell your doctor about G6PD deficiency, iron overload, allergies and your medicines; certain antibiotics clash with infused calcium.

Your IV drip visit, step by step

  1. Free consultation: a doctor goes through your diet, symptoms, medicines and any recent blood tests.
  2. Blood test if needed: checking levels such as B12 shows what your body is actually short of.
  3. Your formula: the doctor chooses each ingredient and dose, and tells you why.
  4. Drip: a fine cannula in your arm, then a slow infusion over 30–45 minutes.
  5. Review: your doctor checks how you feel and whether more sessions are worth having.

After your drip

If a blood test showed you were low, correcting that shortfall is where people feel the clearest difference, usually over the following weeks as levels recover. Our doctors then help you keep your levels up with food or tablets, so you aren’t depending on drips.

You can go straight back to your day. A small bruise or a sore spot where the cannula sat is common; call us at once about spreading redness, swelling, fever, dizziness or breathlessness.

IV vitamin drips: your questions answered

The price depends on the ingredients and doses in your drip, whether a blood test is needed and how many sessions your doctor advises. The consultation is free, and you hear the full price for the whole course before anything starts.

They are when a blood test shows you’re short of a vitamin, or your gut can’t absorb one well. If your levels are normal, a balanced diet does the job for far less, and our lifestyle coaching helps you build one.

Only a quick sharp scratch as the fine cannula goes in. After that you sit back while it runs. A drip that runs too fast can make you lightheaded, so ours run slowly with a doctor nearby.

If you were low in a vitamin, you start to feel better over the following weeks as your levels recover; how quickly depends on the nutrient and how low it was. If nothing was missing, don’t expect a big change.

Vitamin C and the B vitamins aren’t stored for long, so the lasting part comes from fixing the cause: your diet, your gut or a missing supplement. Your doctor plans that with you, so you aren’t booking drip after drip.

With screening and sterile technique, serious problems are rare. Bruising or a sore vein is common. Rarer risks are infection, an allergic reaction, faintness from a fast drip and fluid or salt imbalance, which is why a doctor checks you first and stays close by.

For most people, food and tablets work well and cost less. A drip makes sense when levels need raising quickly, when gut surgery or illness stops tablets being absorbed, or when you can’t keep them down. Your doctor tells you which suits you.

Usually vitamin C, B vitamins and minerals such as magnesium and zinc, in sterile fluid. Your doctor names every ingredient and dose, and leaves out anything that clashes with your health, your test results or your medicines.

A vitamin drip corrects or tops up nutrients. A glutathione drip is chosen for dull, tired-looking skin, and a slimming drip supports a weight-loss plan. Your doctor matches the drip to your goal, or tells you if you don’t need one.

Only when a low level is behind it. Tiredness and hair shedding have many causes, so your doctor looks for yours first, with a blood test where useful. For thinning hair, see our PRGF hair treatment.

Every one of our 12 clinics in 7 cities offers vitamin drips, run by aesthetic-trained doctors, and female doctors are available. You can also WhatsApp a photo of a recent blood report, and a doctor will tell you whether a drip is worth booking.

Yes, but plan early. If you’re low in a vitamin, start tests and treatment two to three months ahead, so your levels are back up well before the day. Avoid a first-ever drip in the final week, as a bruised arm won’t suit bridal sleeves.
