Slimming Drips

Slimming Drips

Low on energy while you cut calories and push to lose weight? A slimming drip is a doctor-screened infusion of fluids, vitamins, minerals and amino acids given into a vein while you relax. It doesn’t burn fat; it tops up your nutrients and keeps you in regular touch with our doctor as part of your diet-and-activity plan.

Best for people on a weight plan who want extra, doctor-checked support.

How do slimming drips work?

Each drip contains fluids with vitamins, minerals and amino acids, chosen by your doctor for you. Because it goes straight into a vein, the nutrients reach your bloodstream directly, without passing through the gut.

There is no good evidence that IV drips burn fat or speed up weight loss, and most people get these nutrients from a balanced diet. Weight comes off when you take in fewer calories than you use, so the drip works as a supportive extra alongside diet, activity and, if suitable, medical treatment.

Who shouldn’t have slimming drips?

It isn’t suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with heart or kidney disease that limits fluids, with an allergy to any ingredient, or with fragile veins. Our doctor checks your health, medicines and, if needed, blood tests before your first drip.

Your slimming drip, step by step

  1. Free consultation: our doctor reviews your health, your weight plan and whether a drip adds anything.
  2. Preparation: a thin cannula goes into a vein in your arm.
  3. Drip: a slow infusion while you sit back and relax, taking 35–45 minutes.
  4. Course: a short course, with the number of sessions set by your doctor.
  5. Review: your progress is checked against your diet and activity goals.

Results and recovery

Some people say they feel more refreshed after a drip, and every visit doubles as a check-in that keeps you on track. The scales move because of your eating, your activity and any treatment your doctor adds, and the drip is there to support that effort.

You can return to your day straight away. A bruise or soreness where the cannula went in is common. Tell us at once about swelling, redness, fever, a rash or breathlessness.

Aftercare

  • Leave the plaster on for an hour
  • Stick to your eating plan today
  • Light activity is fine the same day
  • Report arm redness or swelling at once

Slimming drips: your questions answered

The price depends on the drip’s ingredients and the number of sessions in your course. You get the total cost at a free consultation, after our doctor has checked whether a drip adds anything to your weight plan.

As a supportive extra, they can be: a nutrient top-up and a regular doctor check-in. A drip can’t replace eating fewer calories and moving more, and it won’t melt fat. With a lot of weight to lose, a doctor-led plan with lifestyle coaching and, if suitable, medicine does far more.

You feel a small pinch as the cannula goes in, then very little while the fluid runs. Some people notice a cool feeling in the arm; most simply sit back and relax.

If you feel refreshed, it is usually within a day or so. Changes on the scale come from your diet and activity over weeks, with the drip supporting you along the way.

Any lift in how you feel lasts a few days. Lasting results come from the habits you keep, which is why each drip sits inside a wider weight plan with regular reviews.

After screening, the risks are low but real: bruising, soreness or an inflamed vein, infection where the cannula went in and, rarely, an allergic reaction. Too many vitamins can also build up, so your doctor limits doses and sessions.

No. There is no good evidence that any IV drip burns fat or boosts metabolism enough to cause weight loss. Fat loss needs fewer calories in than out, kept up over time.

Usually fluids with vitamins, minerals and amino acids. Before you start, our doctor talks you through each ingredient and its purpose, and leaves out anything that doesn’t suit your health or your blood test results.

They do very different jobs. Prescription injections such as Mounjaro or semaglutide reduce appetite and have strong trial evidence in suitable adults. Drips don’t. Our doctor explains what fits your health.

No. For a stubborn pocket of fat once you are near your goal weight, body treatments such as CoolSculpting are designed for that job, and your doctor tells you whether one suits you.

There is no set number. Your doctor suggests a short course, reviews how you feel and how your plan is going, and stops if the drips aren’t adding anything, so you only have what helps you.

Yes, as a small extra in a plan that starts months ahead. Safe weight loss is about half a kilo to a kilo a week, so begin early with diet and activity, and book a drip a few days before the day.
