Mesotherapy

Mesotherapy

Have your breakouts calmed down, but left red marks, dull patches and uneven texture behind? Mesotherapy places a serum chosen for your skin just under the surface, by fine injections or microneedling, so acne-prone, marked skin turns calmer, smoother and more even in just a short course.

Best for acne-prone skin, acne marks, shallow scars, pigmentation and dull skin.

What can mesotherapy help with?

Oily, acne-prone skinCalmer, more balanced skin.
Red or dark marks after acneMarks that fade and blend in.
Shallow acne scars and rough textureA smoother, softer feel.
Pigmentation and dull, tired skinA brighter, fresher, more even tone.

How does mesotherapy work?

Your doctor chooses a serum for your main concern: acne-prone skin, acne marks and scars, pigmentation, or overall rejuvenation. It is placed in the middle layer of the skin with very fine injections or a microneedling pen, so it gets to work exactly where your skin needs it.

Hyaluronic acid serums lead the way: in a split-face trial, hyaluronic acid mesotherapy reduced red marks after acne in just three sessions. Deep, pitted acne scars are the one thing it can’t fill; those need treatments that rebuild collagen.

Who shouldn’t have mesotherapy?

It isn’t suitable with active breakouts or an infection in the area, during pregnancy or breastfeeding, if you are allergic to any ingredient, or if you tend to form raised scars. Your doctor checks this at your consultation.

Mesotherapy, step by step

  1. Free consultation: your doctor checks your skin and chooses the serum for your concern.
  2. Preparation: your skin is cleansed, then numbed with cream for comfort.
  3. Treatment: fine injections or microneedling across the area, taking 20–30 minutes.
  4. Course: 2–4 sessions, spaced 2–4 weeks apart.
  5. Upkeep: daily sunscreen and a gentle routine help stop new marks.

Results and recovery

Your skin looks fresher and more hydrated soon after the first session. Red and dark marks fade steadily over the course, and your glow lasts longer when you keep acne under control and wear sunscreen every day.

Expect redness, small bumps and a tingling feeling for 24–48 hours, and sometimes a small bruise. Infection is rare with sterile, single-use products, which is why mesotherapy belongs in a doctor’s hands.

Aftercare

  • No make-up for 24 hours
  • No gym, sauna or steam for 24–48 hours
  • Don’t touch, rub or pick the area
  • Wear sunscreen every day

Mesotherapy: your questions answered

It depends on the product your doctor chooses, the area and how many sessions you need. Your doctor confirms the full price at your free consultation, before anything is done. A course is usually two to four sessions, so ask for the price of all of them.

Yes, for red marks, dullness and uneven skin after acne: it is a gentle way to even things out, with little downtime, and hyaluronic acid serums have trial results behind them. For deeper, pitted scars, RF microneedling for acne scars works better.

Only a little. The needles are very fine and numbing cream goes on first, so most people feel just a mild burning or tingling that fades within minutes of the serum going in.

Your skin looks fresher and more hydrated within days of the first session. Marks keep fading with each visit, and the full change shows over a course of two to four sessions.

Faded marks stay faded when new breakouts are kept under control and you protect your skin from the sun. Many people book an occasional top-up to keep that hydrated glow.

Yes, it is well tolerated when a doctor uses sterile, sealed products. Expect redness, small bumps and tingling for a day or two, and sometimes a bruise. Infection or a skin reaction is uncommon, and a trusted, sealed product keeps it that way.

It softens shallow texture and marks very well. Deep, pitted scars need treatments that rebuild collagen, such as microneedling for acne scars or a TCA peel. Your doctor may combine them.

Yes, it helps oily, acne-prone skin with a serum chosen to calm oil and redness. Inflamed or infected spots aren’t injected, so your doctor may first settle them with a salicylic acid peel or Hydrafacial for acne.

Mesotherapy uses a ready-made serum, such as hyaluronic acid. PRP uses growth factors from your own blood and is often paired with microneedling for scars. Your doctor will suggest one, or both, for your skin.

It depends on your concern. Your doctor picks a serum for acne-prone skin, acne scars, pigmentation or rejuvenation, often built on hyaluronic acid, vitamins, amino acids or brightening agents. Ask which product is used; it should be opened sealed in front of you.

The technique is similar, but the ingredients, the depth and the area are different, and the goal is stronger hair rather than smoother skin. For thinning hair, see mesotherapy for hair.

Yes, it is a lovely way to prepare. Start about two to three months before the day, so your course is finished and your skin is fresh and settled. Avoid a session in the last week, while small bumps or redness could still show.
