When we say a facial treatment has caught some wild hype, we think maybe thousands or even tens of thousands of it being performed. But nope, the HydraFacial is performed over two million times annually around the world. That’s one facial being performed every 15 seconds.

What is the Hydrafacial treatment

For those of us who’ve just hopped onto the catch-up train, the Hydrafacial treatment is a 4-step procedure, conducted with a hydradermabrasion device that performs deep cleansing and exfoliation. A glutathione peel is used for skin brightening and finally, the skin is lathered in hydrating serum and moisturizer. Clients witness hydrating skin, reduced oil production and a beauty glow.

It caters to every normal skin type

When I went to the dermatologist for my first Hydrafacial, I told my dermatologist about my sensitive skin and she all but waved away my concerns, assuring me that the procedure was completely safe and gentle. And that seems to hold true for all skin types- oily, dry, combination, pimple or acne-prone skin- everything, even skin with pre-cancerous spots. Yep, you read that right. Perhaps the only people not cleared for this facial are people with skin conditions like rosacea, sunburns, and pregnant women, since the facial makes use of salicylic acid which hasn’t yet been cleared for pregnancy

Painless extractions

Okay so fun fact: when I got my first HydraFacial I also asked my doc to skip the extractions because the one other time I’d had them, my skin had angry red bumps on it, hurt so bad, and was just splotchy to look at. Once again, my very patient derm told me to relax, that the suction setting on the machine was adjustable and she could do it on the lowest setting for me. Hesitantly I agreed and was surprised by how it felt like a light massage. The vortex machine gently did all the work and no pressing or squeezing was required. You actually get to see all the gunk that is removed so I guess bonus points for that too.

Modern beauty techniques have such a bad reputation of leaving your skin inflamed after, say, getting botoxed, waxed or bleached that we automatically assume that if it hurts now, it’ll probably look stunning later. Fortunately, the HydraFacial has smashed that stereotype.

Its very Customizable

So, to me, this is the most exciting part. This beautiful facial is so versatile, you can literally add on anything you like, or need. Need an extra brightening vitamin C boost? Done, its also a great face serum for glowing skin. you can even choose the strength of the glycolic acid peel that is applied post-cleansing. I usually opt for blue light therapy post-facial to calm any superficial redness and boost collagen production. Patients with acne are often recommended blue UV light therapy post-facial. Also, it pairs nicely with other treatments like fillers and even laser hair removal. And can be done one week post-RF and microneedling sessions to help shed the peeling skin faster and hydrate it at the same time.

Has zero downtime

The payoff with this amazing facial is instant. You get off the treatment chair and look in the mirror? Bam, you’re floored. Your skin is soft, and supple to the touch and has a pinkish glow to it. You realize you don’t need makeup at the moment. This ladies and gentlemen is the secret to HydraFacial’s success. This is why celebrities flock to salons before their weddings and big events to get flawless skin. Since no needles or incisions are involved, recovery time isn’t required. That said, to really observe the magic of the HydraFacial, pair it with hyaluronic acid moisturizer. As your pores shrink, your skin will get bouncier and plump and you’ll witness the glowing skin that almost everybody who gets the treatment, raves about. HA also doubles as the best toner for glowing skin.

Opt for a good caretaker for your dull skin.

Covid brought a boom to the beauty industry. Yep, you read that right. It was a ZoomBoom to be exact but it was a boom nonetheless. In a survey, dermatologists reported seeing more patients coming in for Radio-frequency (RF) treatments than usual because patients were now more focused on their skin quality, texture, and other imperfections since they observed themselves closely during their zoom meetings every day. And radiofrequency is a versatile treatment that caters to a number of aesthetic issues that people face. More effective than topical anti aging creams and serums.

So what is the RF treatment

Radiofrequency treatments deliver heat energy and controlled injury to the deeper layers of the skin triggering collagen production. Collagen is the golden protein found in tissue cells, that promotes wound healing and new cell growth. This leads to tighter face skin that mimics a face lift and appears noticeably younger and fresh. It must be kept in mind that Radiotherapy only fixes mild skin sagging. If the skin has sagged too much, HIFU treatment or surgery will be required to lift it back in shape. Because even though it is a cosmetic procedure, it goes about a much more natural route than the traditional surgical facelift and botox muscle manipulation.

How does it help the ZoomBoom patients?

The first thing that rf treatment does is slow down the decline of collagen in the body. Collagen is responsible for youthful skin, and healthy joints, it also prevents bone loss and helps maintain heart and muscle health. However, the body loses one percent of its collagen reserves annually which means aging skin. So preserving collagen essentially translates to preserving youthfulness. This means that timely Rf treatments may save you from going under the knife at all. Fractional Radio frequency is used to tighten face skin, and to repair wrinkles, pigmentation, and sagging skin.

This same heat is used by dermatologists administering the RF Thermage treatment for contouring the body and face by targeting the unwanted fat cells and destroying them with heat, so they can be dispelled by the body’s immune system.

RF when combined with microneedling may also help you treat your acne scars and stretchmarks. RF and micro needling both use heat to encourage wound healing. How deep to go under the skin is determined by the doctor according to the patient’s age and how much damage needs to be reversed. After the age of 40, the needle may prick about 3mm under the skin to deliver injury. While younger skin may only need to be penetrated by 0.5 mm.

When should you get it?

RF works best on men and women showing early signs of aging. Because collagen and elastin production falls over time with sun exposure and age. Thus, it is not advisable to wait too long for this procedure. This is why most dermatologists recommend their patients get the RF treatment soon after they turn 30 to ensure the reproduction of collagen is triggered before the fine lines deepen into creases. It is more effective than any anti aging serum And since it’s a natural treatment you will see your skin tightening slowly, but surely over 5-7 months after being treated. The results are usually expected to last up to a good year.

Why chose Radiotherapy over other surgical options

The RF treatment is preferred by many dermatologists and clients alike because it spurs the body’s own natural healing to remove scarring, wrinkles, and skin sagging. This saves you from getting surgery which is more expensive and has a higher downtime. Also, RF is an FDA-approved technique that has been declared safe for skin healing and tightening. The healing process of Radio Frequency is from within the skin and a short downtime of about 48 hours is required after the procedure for the skin to heal.

In most cases, there are no side effects to Radiotherapy. You might experience some temporary breakouts or subdermal trauma. This too can be completely avoided if your doctor is gentle and careful with the device. So, if you have sensitive skin or any condition like rosacea, you must choose an experienced and professional dermatologist. Get your skin checked before treatment because effects vary from area to area and skin to skin.

Opt for a good caretaker for your skin.

If you are considering laser hair removal, chances are you have been forewarned by many aunties. Some of whom went as far as to quote their horror stories about getting their skin burned during facial laser procedures or of their hair coming right back after a mere few weeks of treatment. The truth is that the chances of backlash or anything going wrong are minimal- provided that all directions during treatment are followed to a T.

Not shaving beforehand

Starting with basic laser etiquette, shaving is important for your treatment. Because the laser works by damaging the hair follicle with heat to disable any future growth. If the hair is too long the shaft will absorb all the heat and the heat reaching the follicle would be insufficient to completely damage the follicle. Longer hair may also be the reason why some people get their skin burned. Also no waxing or tweezing between sessions. Shaving is okay but no hair removal from the root or there would be nothing to transfer heat to the follicle

Expecting perfection

Now for a bit of reminder, the FDA-approved treatment is for permanent hair Reduction and not permanent hair Removal, so expect about 80-90% hair reduction. Some hair will grow back a little but it will be a negligible amount. Also, results vary from person to person and area to area. Some areas with thicker hair are sometimes harder to clear. Just do not expect complete baldness everywhere

Not being consistent

Remember, consistency is key. Like in the case of antibiotics, you have to run the full course of the procedure. The usual time between laser sessions is four to six weeks. And most of the time five sessions are required to permanently disable the hair follicle. A common mistake people make is to take only two or three sessions. Then return after six months or so complaining that their hair growth was back. The full five sessions are necessary to complete the task. Certain areas with thick hair or certain skin types may require additional sessions

Being careless about choosing a device

Say, you booked your first-ever laser appointment at a spa. Now the cold gel spread on your skin, the tinted glasses to protect your eyes and the flashing lights of laser may well turn out to be IPL. And while IPL laser hair removal works fine, it requires more sessions. is not as long-lasting as a Diode laser and tends to hurt and burn quite a bit more. Even apart from all that, you’d end up paying for the laser and not get any of its benefits. And would have to go through the entire procedure again a few months later.

Tip of the day: always, always check your device.

Investing in an inexperienced technician.

It is imperative you get this procedure conducted by an experienced dermatologist at a clinic. Always get reviews before picking a dermatologis. And never be shy to ask them about how much experience they’ve had with laser. If they deal with multiple patients every day, that’s a good sign.

Opt for a good caretaker for your skin.

Personally, I’ve always enjoyed my experience at Cutera Aesthetics. It is an exemplary laser clinic and they have fully qualified trained professionals with exemplary repute and experience preceding them. The staff doesn’t just perform a service. Instead, they understand that it is their responsibility as caregivers to ensure that each customer is happy with the results. Cutera’s CoolGlide Titanium Laser is the best that there is in the market. It deals with all types of Asian skin tones and is completely pain-free. It’s actually a very soothing procedure and comes with the peace of mind of knowing your hair really isn’t growing back any time soon.

The laser experience here is vastly different from most anywhere else (I really wouldn’t recommend taking that risk.) Remember, Laser is a minor form of surgery and is not suitable for everyone, including pregnant women or if you have any kind of skin condition. Generally speaking, it’s best to consult a dermatologist before booking a treatment. Fortunately, your first consultation at Cutera is free!

Like many people, I had sort of a love/hate relationship with my hair. Can’t live with it, can’t live without it. Dealing with seasonal hair loss, dandruff, and breakage meant I used about every product that caught hype trying to deal with it. So imagine my skepticism when I heard about this all-in-one hydrafacial- for my scalp. So I decided to see for myself how well this magic facial worked, and to draw my own conclusion.

What is Keravive

Keravive is the scalp version of its ultra-popular facial counterpart, the HydraFacial. It might not yet be as popular, but the benefits are astounding. Though one of its biggest claims is that it leads to fuller-looking thicker hair, it is not a treatment to be sought only by those suffering from hair thinning. Its real functions are to cleanse, exfoliate, hydrate, and nourish in that order. So it is literally beneficial for anyone with a scalp.

The process

I told my dermatologist about my hair fall and sensitive scalp and how it reacted to harsh chemicals and she all but waved away my concerns, assuring me the procedure was completely safe and gentle. So we began. My scalp was given a deep cleansing with a vacuum wand that sucked out dirt and sebum to unclog my pores. The doctor then used Beta hydroxyl and salicylic acid to exfoliate and I was prepared to bear a stinging sensation but it only tingled a bit- almost felt nice if I’m honest.

A hydrating serum is then massaged into the skin for 10 mins. This is honestly the best part of the entire facial. Took me back to my childhood days and Nani’s “Chumpi.” picture this: I’m lying on the comfiest of comfy treatment chairs tipped back. My eyes are covered with a mask and gentle, gentle fingers in my hair. It was so relaxing I fell asleep during treatment.

I was treated so carefully that I was able to actually relax as if in a spa. Finally, I was given leave with a hyaluronic acid moisturising spray with the instructions to use it once every night and to also practice massaging my scalp before bed regularly. My appointments were spaced after every 3-week gap. And three sessions are needed to maintain treatment.

The verdict

Suffice it to say I was pleasantly surprised by how clean and fresh my scalp felt. I expected there to be aching roots after all the sucking and exfoliating. But it turned out the hydrating massage was the best cleanser for dry skin. The real magic followed over the next couple of days as my scalp pores continued to shrink, my hair felt bouncy and I could feel the reduction in hair fall as promised.

Who should get it

As mentioned earlier almost everybody is a good candidate for this procedure, especially if you have dryness and dandruff. It may even surprise you by boosting your hair growth, but it generally promises a hydrated scalp and beauty glow locks. However, if you have any scalp conditions like psoriasis or dermatitis, it is best to consult a dermatologist before treatment at a good clinic.

In this day and age, hair loss has become a sort of taboo topic. You will find yourself being mentally grouped into the “killjoy” or “oldie” categories if you are open about your hair loss struggles. Because this filter-loving generation is all about effortless beauty and is obsessed with the “I woke up like this” trend. In reality, the uncomfortable truth is that beauty does take effort. And styling is often one of the main culprits when it comes to hair loss and it brings bucketloads of stress with it. And understandably so, since for many people, hair is a part of their identity, and watching bald spots appear on their head or finding their hairline receding can be a traumatizing experience.

Hair PRP is essentially a solution to this struggle and this treatment is especially welcome in this post-covid era where stress-related hair fall is high and people are looking for a natural cure with no side effects.

What is the PRP hair treatment?

PRP stands for Platelet-rich plasma which is basically what is left behind when you filter out red cells from a sample of blood through centrifuge. Platelets are just golden for growth and amplify the body’s natural repair system- stimulating new skin cell growth. They are often used in medicines to treat arthritis patients and also act as aids in anti-aging treatments. When injected into the scalp, they help with hair growth.

The Process

How PRP works is by taking a sample of your blood, and spinning it in a centrifuge. This separates red cells so you’re left behind with plasma that is rich in platelets. When injected directly into the scalp, targeting the hair follicles. The process is precise as injections need to be made at every half-inch distance over all the affected areas. But the entire process takes only half an hour. This platelet-rich plasma is infused into the skin through dermarollers, derma pens or micro-needling. The needles essentially make micro channels into the affected area that let the topically applied plasma seep into the scalp for maximum absorption.

Risks Involved

There are no real risks in this process. It may hurt a little if your scalp is sensitive. A panadol or numbing sprays may be given by the doctor to those with a low pain threshold. The downtime of a hair PRP session is also minimal a couple of days at most.

Who It Works For

The treatment is most suitable for patients with genetic alopecia which causes hair loss at the top of the head for men and hair thinning for women. Typically anyone with hair loss problems can benefit from it. But the best candidates for mesotherapy for hair are those in the early throes of the issue since they respond the fastest to the treatment. A protective serum will need to be added to your hair care routine. You’ll also need to avoid alpha and beta hydroxy acids. It is also advisable to discontinue using fragranced products till the treatment is over. The PRP treatment is safe for almost everyone, except those diagnosed with any scalp condition like psoriasis.

The Results

I myself did get a few PRP treatments though my hair loss was mild. I was initially worried about this hair prp treatment price. But I have to say the results are noticeable and commendable and quite worth it. But they’re not immediate. The growth peaks after about two to three sessions and if you patiently attend a session every month. There’s a good chance you will be cured of your hair loss within a year and will be able to enjoy your new healthy hair. That said, this estimate is very tentative and varies from person to person and scalp to scalp.

The interesting thing about beauty is that it is always changing, and always in flux. Trends come and go. So, If you want to change the way you’re aging or even change the way you look, it is up to you. And injectable dermal fillers can help you achieve the change you want- higher cheekbones, fuller lips, or getting rid of fine lines. You want it, you got it!

What are fillers?

Fillers are jelly-like proteins that are injected under the skin to address various skin concerns. These include smoothing out frown lines, gaunt hands, and lifting the cheeks and corners of the mouth. Dermal fillers have been around for more than a decade and are more common than we realize. They are often injected into the skin to volumize and lift features. Most fillers ( about 99.9%) are made with Hyaluronic acid. This is because HA is reversible if the amount injected needs adjustment. As soon as hyaluronic acid is injected into the skin, it immediately begins to collect water in that region. HA can bind water many times its weight

Why get fillers

There will always be a certain percentage of clientele that will ask for bold, doll-like enhancements to their cheekbones, brows, and lips. But the majority these days swings towards more natural-looking features that appear just a bit more noticeable and flattering.

Lips

The puckered-up lips will perhaps always remain an oft-requested filler look. However, a large portion of lip filler clients are actually looking to solve a problem: thin, chapped, and dehydrated lips. Due to its amazing water-binding ability, Hyaluronic acid lip filler is the perfect solution. It plumps out thin lips without giving them an unnatural look, while also simultaneously keeping the lips hydrated and soft.

 Cheeks

As we age our faces don’t sag flat downwards but rather in an inverted triangle formation. So the cheeks can be lifted to restore a semblance of the former face. Some people want a contoured look. Fillers in the cheekbones can help achieve his look. However, you must keep in mind that when you touch up one area on your face, you have to make minor alterations to other areas as well. E.g filling out the cheeks but not the temples will give an unnatural look as the temples will appear more gaunt in comparison.

Nose

Nose fillers work a little like nose contour- just quite a bit longer-lasting. You fill out the areas where you feel your nose is going a bit crooked. And just like that, you’ve saved yourself the cost of a painful rhinoplasty which would also likely come with some downtime as well.

Forehead and Under-eyes

Injecting fillers into the forehead can reduce frown lines. This fills out the sagging skin for a tighter, smoother appearance. Many people complain of under-eye hollows making them look tired and gaunt. You can fix this by getting a small filler dose near the nose-cheek junction.

Benefits

Benefits of dermal fillers include not having to wait for results which are also almost immediately visible. The downtime of fillers is low. You can expect to see your desired results within the week of treatment. Along with that, you get a long-lasting treatment usually well over a year before you need a touchup. Fillers are also ideal for an instant confidence boost!

Investing in an experienced technician.

It is imperative you get this procedure conducted by an experienced and professional dermatologist and nowhere except at a clinic. Always get reviews before picking a dermatologist. Never be shy to ask them about how much experience they’ve had with fillers. If they deal with multiple patients every day, that’s a good sign.

Risks and downsides to dermal fillers

Fillers run a very rare risk of vascular occlusion. Where the caregiver accidentally injects into a blood vessel. If this ever happens, an enzyme hyaluronidase can be injected which neutralizes the hyaluronic acid. Fortunately, this occurrence is extremely rare It can be avoided altogether by getting treated by a professional dermatologist who knows to inject very small amounts and pull back every time to ensure they haven’t punctured a blood vessel. So never try doing fillers by yourself at home.

Sun damage is one of the top factors that contribute to aging skin. Ultraviolet rays are responsible for most prominent skin concerns like hyper pigmentation, damage collagen-producing cells, and can trigger skin cancers and melasma. Sun rays can cause cellular lever damage to the skin and alter DNA to affect our aging system negatively. But this also means that the skin may be sustaining significant damage at deeper levels but appear relatively normal at the surface.

Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning is the best treatment for dark spots on face. It involves removing the outermost layer of the skin, the epidermis. Dead skin cells often accumulate here along with fine vellus hair on the face. By removing both of these, the skin appears smoother and brighter. As a more beneficial side effect, the skin also appears to better absorb topically applied moisturizers and serums.

While the procedure appears simple, dermaplaning at home is not risk-free. There’s always a chance that you could cut yourself which could lead to facial scarring or infection. Opt for professional care for the best results

Facials and peels

Dermaplaning and other such in-office treatments may require you to avoid the sun for perhaps a week or so. And since the most damage acquired by the skin is obviously during summer, it is a good idea to begin reviving your skin in autumn when the sunlight has lost most of its intensity, and covering up the skin is the norm. This might be the perfect time to get chemical peel treatments and the Diamond Glow facial. This facial gently exfoliates and cleans pores of impurities. Then targets sun spots and damage with a serum infusion. The L-ascorbic acid serum helps reduce fine lines and improves skin texture that is damaged by the sun.

Another very effective way to deal with sun-damaged skin is through chemical peels since they burn away the outermost sun-stained layer of skin. In-office peels are almost always preferable to the ones done at home because your dermatologist can adjust the composition of each peel to suit your specific skin issues. The glycolic peel is the most favored chemical peel for reversing sun damage.

Vitamin C

It is a natural antioxidant that helps exfoliate skin and smoothen fine lines like crow’s feet created by the sun. And when combined with lactic acid, it contributes to the production of collagen and elastin. Collagen is responsible for youthful skin, and healthy joints, it also prevents bone loss and helps maintain heart and muscle health. However, the body loses one percent of its collagen reserves annually so preserving collagen essentially translates to preserving youthfulness and prolonging skin tightening. UV rays directly affect these collagen stores and cause them to dwindle more rapidly so Vitamin C is essential in restoring and regenerating collagen to reverse sun damage. There are many collagen serums on the market today but using vitamin C triggers the body’s own natural production.

Retinol

This is the star ingredient for sun defense, also known as dark spot remover. Because they improve cell turnover to reduce aging signs and reverse sun damage. They also effectively trigger collagen production that may have suffered due to excessive UV rays exposure collagen then helps reduce fine lines and sagging skin to produce a smoother complexion. While it may appear that the main achievement of retinol is smoothing out lines and boosting elasticity, it also helps retexturize sun-affected skin to help prevent breakouts and other skin pigmentation issues like dark spots on face. For sensitive skin, using retinol as a remodeling and anti aging serum for the first time may cause some irritation. So, use milder concentration till the skin gets used to it.

Sunscreen

Finally, it is important to highlight that sunscreen will always be your best defense against sun damage and aging skin. Be liberal with the amount you use: coin-sized dollop for your face and double that amount for your body.

There are some usual and traditionally known aging signs that we are all on the lookout for. These include frown lines, laugh lines, crow’s feet, and under-eye swelling. But there are some more delicate signs of aging that we may miss. And if these appear before a certain age they may be symptoms of more problematic issues.

Skeletal-looking hands.

Muscle or tissue loss can lead to an individual’s hands looking gaunt. The process is really slow so unless carefully observed a person may not even be aware of losing mass from their hands or face. One of the simplest measures of rectifying this issue is using topical hyaluronic acid because tissue loss occurs when the production of natural hyaluronic acid in the body dwindles. Hyaluronic acid can absorb more than five hundred times its weight in water so it can greatly help rejuvenate muscle and restore skin thickness.

Sunspots

One of the first unusual signs of aging is sunspots. Well, these aren’t really unusual since people have them quite often. What is unusual is if you start seeing them before your thirties. What really are sunspots anyway? Sunspots are flat brown areas on your skin that appear when you spend a lot of time in the sun. They basically show how much the sun has damaged the skin so naturally, they affect fair-skinned people more than their darker counterparts. The most common way to deal with sunspots is through chemical peels since they burn away the outermost sun-stained layer of skin. The glycolic peel is the most favored. Some also use cryotherapy (freezing of the stained skin) and dermabrasions (sloughing outer skin off) to treat these spots along with the glycolic acid peel.

Your eyes change shape

As you age your bones start moving inward. This change is most noticeable at the corners of your eyes. Meaning you’ll notice them looking more horizontal than their usual rounded shape.

One possible way to reduce this damage is by using eye creams regularly and start taking vitamin C orally as well as applying it topically on a regular basis. Vitamin C triggers collagen production which can provide additional support to sagging skin and bones. This symptom is common enough in middle-aged people. Many of them get the thread lift to correct their eye shape. But if you are seeing these signs in your twenties or even early thirties, it is best to get a checkup to determine bone health as it may be symptomatic of osteoporosis.

Your skin is Itchy

Your skin gradually loses its ability to retain moisture as it ages. Pores widen and skin becomes thin and wrinkled. Dehydrated skin is often itchy and can turn flakey. Try keeping your skin hydrated as often as you can. Regular hydra facials after the age of 30 can help keep your skin plump and moisturized. Applying petroleum jelly after moisturizer is a good way of keeping moisture locked in the skin while you sleep.  It ensures you don’t suffer from nighttime moisture loss

Sage advice

In the end, it does well to remember that you can age with grace or choose to delay getting older for a while. Such is the miracle of science and technology today. But there is decidedly no shame in either. It’s only a matter of personal choice. Good cheekbones and a sharp jawline can all be achieved with thread lift and hifu treatment. Fine lines and wrinkles can be dealt with radiofrequency skin tightening. If you take care of these aging signs, as shown above, you can maintain the good health of your skin for a long time. Especially if you…

This blog lists some ways you can get facial rejuvenation without the help of fillers. That is not to say that fillers are going out of fashion. Injectables are and probably always will be a popular means of getting “work done,” since they are quick, accessible, and relatively predictable. However, they come with their own set of challenges: getting regular maintenance shots, spending a considerable amount on each and every fine line, and having needles in your face. So for all those who desire alternatives to fillers, this list is for you.

Chemical peels for discoloration

Another very effective way to deal with sun-damaged skin is through chemical peels since they burn away the outermost sun-stained layer of skin. These are the cheapest and easiest of most skin rejuvenating methods and hence are usually the first steps toward better skin. In-office peels are almost always preferable to the ones done at home because your dermatologist can adjust the composition of each peel to suit your specific skin issues. The glycolic peel is the most favored chemical peel for reversing sun damage.

HIFU for tightening

High-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) is a non-invasive ultrasound therapy that helps slim down and firm up fatty and loose areas on the face and body without surgery. It must be kept in mind that Ultherapy only fixes mild to mediocre skin sagging. It goes about a much more natural route than the traditional surgical facelift and botox muscle manipulation. The ultrasound waves travel past the surface and deeper into the skin to stimulate collagen and elastin production. These are both naturally occurring proteins in the body that work to keep skin healthy and young by providing cellular-level support which makes the skin supple and taut.

RadioFrequency for fine-lines

RF works best on men and women showing early signs of aging. Dermatologists recommend their patients get the RF treatment soon after they turn 30. To ensure the reproduction of collagen is triggered before the fine lines deepen into creases. And since it’s a natural treatment you will see your skin continuously improve over 5-7 months after being treated. The results are usually expected to last up to a good year.

PRP for radiance

PRP works by taking a sample of your blood, and spinning it in a centrifuge to separate and remove red blood cells. You’re now left behind with plasma that is rich in platelets (hence the name.) Since platelets help trigger collagen production and increase cell turnover this method forces the body to make new cells to replace the dead ones. This platelet-rich plasma is infused deep into the skin through micro-needling.

Picosecond Laser for texture improvement

Picosecond is a non-invasive technique that uses highly focused energy to target affected areas of the skin. To fix a variety of skin imperfections like melasma, hyperpigmentation, sun damage, photodamage, and even fine lines and wrinkles. This is done by delivering highly intensive energy in short bursts to the affected area. This delivers controlled injury which triggers the body’s own healing process. Collagen production is now stimulated. It is responsible for repairing and rejuvenating the skin picosecond and has been proven to be effective against acne scarring as well. Patients may feel mild but manageable pain with a short downtime of about forty-eight hours.

Who do they work for

These procedures work best on men and women showing early signs of aging. Collagen and elastin production falls over time with sun exposure and age. So, it is not advisable to wait too long. This is why most dermatologists recommend their patients get treatment soon after they turn 30. Ensuring the reproduction of collagen is triggered before the fine lines deepen into creases.

Opt for a good caretaker for your skin.

In most cases, there are no side effects to these procedures. You might experience some temporary breakouts or subdermal trauma. But that too can be completely avoided if your doctor is gentle and careful with the device. This is why if you have sensitive skin or any condition like rosacea, you must choose an experienced and professional dermatologist. Get your skin checked before treatment because effects vary from area to area and skin to skin. I’ve always enjoyed my experience at Cutera Aesthetics. They have fully qualified trained professionals with exemplary repute and experience preceding them. And their first consultation is free!
